      Hello SSV member -- 



      It's time for another party! 


      You are cordially invited to the downtown Britannia Arms on Thursday evening, July 19, as SSV members and Earthquakes fans from all over will come together to watch the MLS All-Star Game. The game starts at 6:00 and admission is free. We'll be gathering on the Brit's delightful outdoor patio and, if necessary, taking over the inside as well. The MLS All-Stars feature a number of ex-Quakes, including Jimmy Conrad, Ricardo Clark, Dwayne De Rosario, Brian Ching, and Landon Donovan, so bring your voice and wear your blue. We believe this will be a fun night for all! (The Brit is open to all ages until its kitchen closes at 10:00 pm, so it's fine to bring your kids as well.)


      The Britannia Arms Downtown is at 173 West Santa Clara Street between San Pedro St. and Almaden Ave. -- click here for a map. The game starts at 6:00. We hope to see you there!

      On July 14, FA Cup winners Chelsea FC will take on Club America of Mexico at Stanford Stadium, and 100 volunteers are needed to help conduct a survey at half time. In return, each volunteer will receive three free tickets to the match and a commemorative t-shirt. Here are the details: 


      Chelsea FC are conducing a data collection survey at the July 14th match. The survey will ask about favorite team, favorite sport, and general demographic information, specific to soccer. This information is for the exclusive use of Chelsea FC. 


      Volunteers will receive:
      3 tickets each for the Chelsea FC vs Club America on July 14th, 6 p.m at Stanford Stadium and a match t-shirt. (You will receive the tickets and shirts at the game.)


      REQUIREMENTS:
      All volunteers must be minimum 14 years of age.
      Meet at 2:30 pm, Stanford Stadium, specific location to be determined.
      Required to take 1 bag each with golf pencils and surveys.
      Hand out and collect surveys during the 10 minutes of half-time
      Return completed surveys after half time to designated collection point.


      What will you be doing?
      Handing out surveys and collecting them back from each section (2 volunteers per section). The incentive for completing the survey is that one respondent will win a free trip to London to watch Chelsea in person.
