Coaches, parents, players
Please keep this date in mind (below) and attend if your able. The EARTHQUAKES really need your support for the stadium proposition to pass. If your like me and love to watch good professional soccer in your back yard, lets not let what happened 3 years ago repeat itself. Lets keep EARTHQUAKE soccer in San Jose and let the rest of the Bay Area come to us. GO QUAKES!!

Subject: SSV Update: Tuesday, November 6 - BE THERE!
Dear Soccer Silicon Valley member --
SSV has been informed tonight that the date of the San Jose City Council meeting which will determine the fate of Lew Wolff's stadium proposal has been moved up to November 6 at 7:00 p.m. That's three weeks from tonight.
It is extremely important that we pack the council chambers with fans wearing Earthquakes blue! This is it, and if all goes well it's the last time we'll have to mix civics lessons with soccer.
Please spread the word among all your soccer-loving friends that Tuesday, November 6 is a night they must be in San Jose. Youth soccer teams, we need you. Adult soccer teams, we need you. Coaches, players, fans of all ages -- come to the City Council meeting and wear your Earthquakes blue!
San Jose's City Hall is at 200 East Santa Clara Street. A map is available here. Free validated parking is available in the underground City Hall garage -- enter off of S. 6th Street and bring your parking voucher to the council chambers--the validation machine is there. Parking is also available for a fee at the 4th Street Garage behind City Hall (enter heading south off of S. 4th St., a half block south of Santa Clara St.) and the Third Street Garage (enter heading north off 3rd St. a half block north of Santa Clara Street). (Note that both 3rd and 4th streets are one-way.)
We understand that there has been some speculation in the newspaper recently that the negotiations will need to be extended into 2008. Do not be confused -- the meeting that matters is Tuesday, November 6.
Details of the proposed stadium deal are available on SSV's home page. We also ask you to contact San Jose's mayor and city council members to let them know that you support the deal -- contact information and sample letters are available on SSV's "Send a Message" page. If you have other questions about what's happening, please leave them on the blog and we'll do our best to answer them.
Thanks as always for your support. Let's show them how big the soccer community is on November 6!
Yours in soccer,
SSV's Board of Directors:
