DISTRICT 2 CCSL SCHEDULING
INSTRUCTIONS
Welcome to the fall 2011 CCSL
Season!
The CCSL Committee is excited about the
upcoming season and we thank you for joining us to create the largest and most
competitive playing league in Northern California.
Creating a true state-wide league is a
challenge as we incorporate existing processes and procedures for the nine
districts. This has slowed our communications plan somewhat and for that
we apologize and promise to do better! However, we believe you will be
pleased with the enhancements for District 2 teams that will improve the
competitive experience this fall.
GAME SCHEDULING:
All age groups: Coast
Section Copper, Bronze and Silver:
refer to instructions available on ccslcoast.org
U12-U15: Bay Region (Silver Elite and
Gold): all games are played on home fields; each
club field scheduler is responsible for entering game time and location for all
club teams on calsoccerleague.org and each club scheduler has been sent a
single club-specific login to the site (see below for instructions)
Bay Region and Premier U16-U19: the District 2 board agreed that all
U16-U19 Silver Elite, Gold and Premier games will be played on neutral fields
(Morgan Hill or Skyline/Jefferson) unless both home and away teams agree to home
fields, with the following exception:
U14-U19 Teams from Districts 6/7/8 vs.
Teams from District 2:
All games played between teams from these
districts in Premier, Gold and Silver Elite will be scheduled in Ripon or Morgan
Hill, unless both teams agree to play at “home” fields. Unfortunately,
there isn’t an easy way to figure out which teams belong to which District! I
hope you know the District 1 and 2 clubs, and I have attached a table of the
majority of the clubs from outside Districts 1 and 2 that are playing Bay and
State Premier. If you have a question, feel free to email me.
If the District 6/7/8 opponent agrees to
a “home” game, we STRONGLY encourage District 2 teams to schedule at Morgan Hill
in order to facilitate the highest quality of officiating.
Scheduling process for
Ripon:
1. CCSL Administration will post games as
being scheduled at Ripon on Calsoccerleague.org without a time.
2. The Ripon Administrator will assign times
and referees; Bruce Sillars is acting as Ripon Administrator:ccsldirector at calsoccerleague.org
3. League of Registration for the home team
will be billed for referees
4. If the “home” team needs to change the
day (or mutually agrees to a rescheduled day) as approved by the Comp Admin, the
Comp Admin will send an email to Bruce Sillars with the indicated
change
5. The list of Competition Administrators
may be found at: http://www.calsoccerleague.org/board2011.php
6. See below for scheduling
timeline
Scheduling process for Morgan
Hill/Skyline:
1. CCSL Administration will post games as

Geisler (kgeisler at verizon.net)
5. The Skyline Administrator is tba; for
right now contact Rich Fern (richref1 at gmail.com)
6. League of Registration for the home team
will be billed for referees
7. If the “home” team needs to change the
day (or mutually agrees to a rescheduled day) as approved by the Comp Admin, the
Comp Admin will send an email to the Morgan Hill or Skyline Administrator with
the indicated change
8. See below for scheduling
timeline
Scheduling process for moving from
Neutral/Central field to home field:
1. If both teams agree to play at home,
please email the appropriate Competition Administrator and copy home and away
manager/coach as well as the home team scheduler with the game
details
2. If the Comp Administrator approves of the
change, the Comp Administrator notifies both the home and away teams, and
indicates the change on calsoccerleague.org (by changing field to “unassigned”),
the home team scheduler may then change the venue from Ripon/Morgan Hill/Skyline
to the home field
3. The Comp Administrator will also inform
the Neutral/Central field scheduler of the change in venue

“Minor” reschedules of field location or
time (but not date) must be communicated to the opponent and entered online by
Monday evening at 9pm the week of the match
Forfeit Rules:

· Any
team that forfeits a match will be assessed an $85.00 fine. Payments of these
fines will be the responsibility of the League of Registration.

Game
Scheduling:

has rented central fields for CCSL League play (at no additional cost to those
teams) when the travel distance between the teams is
excessive.
Districts 6, 7 vs. Districts 1,

Ripon, unless both teams agree to play at “home” fields. Some other games where

Teams from Valley will play teams from Bay at a central site (probably Ripon) with fields and referees centrally assigned. We will have Morgan Hill (and qualified referees) and strongly urge all U15 and older teams to schedule matches there; CYSA/CCSL will pay the field cost and will bill the referee cost to the league of registration (teams will be billed by their league). We are exploring a neutral field option further north since feedback is that the quality of officiating was best when there were consecutive games at the same age and level of play.

the public website so we have attached your bracket’s teams with contact
information as well as the current list of Competition Administrators. The
Comp Admins are also listed oncalsoccerleague.org.
Game
Scheduling:
In order to minimize travel and to assign the highest quality
officials to the Regional and State Premier games, CCSL/CYSA has rented central
fields for CCSL League play (at no additional cost to those teams) when the
travel distance between the teams is excessive.
Districts 6, 7 vs.
Districts 1, 2: All games played between these districts in Premier, Gold and
Silver Elite will be scheduled in Ripon, unless both teams agree to play at
“home” fields. Some other games where there would be excessive travel may also
be played at Ripon.
Scheduling process for
Ripon:
1. CCSL Administration will post games as being
scheduled at Ripon on Calsoccerleague.org without a
time.
2. The Ripon Administrator will assign times and
referees
3. League of Registration for the home team will
be billed for referees
4. If the “home” team needs to
change the day (or mutually agrees to a rescheduled day) as approved by the Comp
Admin, the Comp Admin will send an email to the Ripon Administrator with the
indicated change
5. See below for scheduling
timeline
Scheduling process for home games:
1.
If both teams agree to play at home, please email your Competition Administrator
and copy home and away manager/coach as well as the home team scheduler with the
game details
2. Home team scheduler will change the venue
from Ripon to the home field
Valley Region Teams: At
times centrally located fields will be utilized for games to reduce excessive
travel. Teams should contact their CCSL District Representative to request
central fields scheduling for games which involve excessive travel
distances.

established a firm forfeit procedure, travel is not a valid reason to not play a
game.

forfeited:
· Any team that
forfeits a match will be assessed an $85.00 fine. Payments of these fines will
be the responsibility of the League of
Registration.
· Forfeits will
be recorded as a 0-2 loss to the forfeiting team. Teams forfeiting will also be
penalized an additional three (3) points in the
standings.
District 1 or 2 vs.
District 1 or 2: The District 1 and 2 Boards agreed that U16 and older
Silver Elite, Gold and State Premier games being played between teams from
District 1 and 2 will be played at neutral fields unless agreed to by both
teams. This is to ensure appropriate officiating for this level of
play.

been a busy month here in CCSL-land. I know you are eagerly awaiting the
Bay and Premier brackets and schedules. Unfortunately, we've had a few
teams drop at the last minute, which has caused havoc with the seeding and
schedules. CCSL Director Bruce Sillars has been doing a fabulous job and
has worked tirelessly to be sure every team is seeded to the best of our ability
and that the schedules are correct and fair. I have attached the
most up-to-date bracketing and the CCSL committee meets tomorrow to approve and
make schedules "live" on the website. YAHOO!

ignore any brackets in the document called Coast anything—those were created to
be sure we accounted for teams that were moved to Coast section (or some other
reason we needed to "see" them).

sending instructions to club schedulers and teams for neutral (central)
fields. Teams from Valley will play teams from Bay at a central site
(probably Ripon) with fields and referees centrally assigned. We will have
Morgan Hill (and qualified referees) and strongly urge all U15 and older teams
to schedule matches there; CYSA/CCSL will pay the field cost and will bill the
referee cost to the league of registration (teams will be billed by their
league). We are exploring a neutral field option further north since
feedback is that the quality of officiating was best when there were consecutive
games at the same age and level of play.
