You are receiving this message as a Coach or Manager of a team playing in the
CCSL Coast section. That is a team in a Copper, Bronze or Silver division. The
website used to run this section is at www.CCSLCoast.org Other Sections and
Regions may have different instructions and are on a different website.

It has come to my attention that our 8v8 rules are not well documented online. I
will fix that but it will not be done by tonight.

Here is a summary of key information for you. Most of it is field related, but
you should be awareof it. Be sure to consult with your CR and opposing coach to
ensure all are clear on the rule modifications.

Also note that Goal Kicks in 8v8 games are per FIFA rules. That is, goal kicks
are taken from within the Goal Box outline. They are NOT taken from the larger
Penalty Box.

13.1. All U9, U10 & U11 matches (8 v 8) will follow standard FIFA rules with the
following modifications for the 8v8 format.

13.2. Law I The Field

.... 13.2.1 Dimensions: The field of play shall be rectangular, its length being
not more than 80 yards nor less than 70 yards and its width not more than 50
yards nor less than 35 yards. The length in all cases shall exceed the width.
(Recommend size is 80x50).

.... 13.2.2 Markings: Distinctive lines not more than (5) inches wide. A halfway
line shall be marked out across the field. A center circle with an eight (8)
yard radius. Four corner arcs each with a two (2) foot radius.

.... 13.2.3 Goal Area: Six (6) yards from each goal post and six (6) yards into
the field of play joined by a line drawn parallel with the goal line.

.... 13.2.4 Penalty Area: Fourteen (14) yards from each goal post and fourteen
(14) yards into the field of play joined by a line drawn parallel with the goal
line.

.... 13.2.5 Penalty Spot: Ten (10) yards from the midpoint between the goalposts
and equidistant to them.

.... 13.2.6 Penalty Arc: Arc of a circle with a radius of eight (8) yards from
the center of the Penalty Spot drawn outside the Penalty Area.

.... 13.2.7 Goals: Between six (6) feet high and eighteen (18) feet wide up to
seven (7) feet high and twenty-one (21) feet wide (Recommend size 7x21).

.... 13.2.8 Agreement To Play: If the above requirements are not satisfied and
the managers or coaches of both teams choose to play the match, the result of
the match shall be deemed official and cannot be protested.

13.3 Law XIII-Free Kicks: Opponents must be eight (8) yards away before kick is
allowed.

13.4 Law XVII-Corner Kick: Opponents must be eight (8) yards away from the ball

13.5 All U9 matches will follow standard FIFA rules with the following
additional modifications.

.... 13.5.1 Law XV-Throw-In: One re-throw allowed per restart.

.... 13.5.2 Law XIV NO PENALTY KICKS: Direct kicks caused by infractions in the
penalty area shall be taken on the edge of the penalty area from closest point
to the infraction.
